Lenz's Law, also known as the Lenz-Faraday Law of Electromagnetic Induction, states that the direction of an induced electromotive force (EMF) is always such that it opposes the change in magnetic flux that produced it. This law was discovered in 1834 by Russian physicist Heinrich Friedrich Emil Lenz.
